MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Zach Randolph has been one of the few constants for a Memphis Grizzlies team thats been rocked by a steady string of injuries to key players. And the big man was at it again on Monday night, scoring 22 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and even dishing a season-high seven assists in the Grizzlies 104-94 victory over the Utah Jazz. "We go as our leader goes," Memphis guard Tony Allen said. "He carried us today." But he also had plenty of help from a bench that scored 51 points. Jerryd Bayless scored all 17 of his points in the second half while Mike Miller added 15 and Jon Leuer 11. The Jazz were so worried about Randolphs ability down low that they strayed from the Grizzlies 3-point shooters. That proved to be a costly mistake. Memphis shot 11 of 20 (55 per cent) from 3-point range, using timely shots to brush back all of Utahs rallies. Bayless, Miller and Leuer were a combined 8 of 10 from long range. "Im impressed," Memphis coach Dave Joerger said. "We just kept coming harder for longer stretches of time. We kept the turnovers down, which gives us some shots. We got some offensive rebounds. I think our mistakes are glaring at this point. The reason that they are glaring is because there are fewer and fewer of them." Memphis (12-15) has won two in the row after losing a season-high five straight. Bayless hit two 3-pointers in a row, one at the end of the third quarter and the other at the beginning of the fourth, to help the Grizzlies push out to an 80-71 lead. Utah (8-23) was led by Trey Burke and Richard Jefferson, who each scored 18 points. Gordon Hayward added 16 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. Derrick Favours also scored 16. Utah made several runs to keep the game close, but never led after late in the first quarter, when the Grizzlies went on an 11-0 to turn a 21-18 deficit into a 29-21 advantage. "I thought the effort was there. Were trying," Utah coach Tyrone Corbin said. "We had some lulls in there, but the guys are fighting, and, as a result, we had chances in the ballgame. We just couldnt get over the hump." The Grizzlies pushed out to a 41-29 lead by midway through the second quarter, but nearly lost it before recovering for a 53-48 halftime lead. Randolph led all scorers with 12 first-half points while Burke had 11 for the Jazz. James Johnson -- a 6-foot-9 forward who the Grizzlies signed last week from the D-League -- once again received extensive playing time. He started his second straight game and played 33 minutes, contributing nine points, five rebounds, four blocks and a constant stream of energy. He swatted Haywards 3-point attempt into the seats just before the end of the first quarter and jammed Jeffersons layup attempt back in his face in the third quarter. Both blocks received huge cheers from the bench. The Grizzlies need all the energy they can get these days while trying to weather a steady stream of injuries. Tayshaun Prince sat out a third straight game because of a sore left knee. Randolphs seven assists were one short of a career high. It proved too much for Utah to overcome. The game signalled the end of a long road trip for the Jazz, which spanned 4,684 miles and five games over eight days. "Their bench played extremely well, and we just didnt match that energy they had especially in the second half," Jefferson said. NOTES: Memphis F Jon Leuer made 1 of 2 3-point attempts, which actually dropped his season mark to 14 of 26 (53.8 per cent). Leuer has scored in double figures in eight of his last nine games ... Encarnacion hit a pair of two-run homers for Toronto as the Blue Jays took a big lead early and held on to beat the slumping Boston Red Sox 7-4 on Tuesday night. Encarnacion has hit nine of his 11 homers this season this month, which has 10 days left. "He is pretty good," Toronto manager John Gibbons said. "But even last year I think he got off to a slow start somewhat. Its not going to hold him down. Its usually just a matter of time." Melky Cabrera and Erik Kratz also homered for the Blue Jays, who won for the sixth time in eight games and extended Bostons losing streak to five straight. J.A. Happ (3-1) struck out six in the first three innings and picked up his third win in four starts since joining the rotation. "I felt like it was going to be a good night," Happ said. "I was trying to attack the zone and I felt my location was good." Jonny Gomes hit a two-run homer for Boston. The losing streak is the longest for the Red Sox since 2012. Casey Janssen picked up his fourth save, with a rocky ninth inning. Dustin Pedroia and Shane Victorino led off the ninth with consecutive singles. David Ortiz nearly tied it with a long fly ball that drifted foul, and then struck out. Janssen got Mike Napoli to ground into a double play to end it. "If you get to the ninth inning with the lead and youve got your closer in there, youve just got to let it ride. You try to get to that point and the games on the line," Gibbons said. Encarnacion hit a two-run homer in the third and Kratz added a solo shot in the fourth off Felix Doubront (2-4), who left the game after Jose Reyes and Cabrera opened the fifth with back-to-back doubles. The Red Sox said Doubront complained of fatigue in his left shoulder. "This is the first night hes felt this to this extent. His stuff was diminishing even in the early innings, particularly between the fourth and fifth," Boston manager John Farrell said. Edward Muujica replaced Doubront and struck out Jose Bautista, but Encarnacion followed with a towering shot to left for his second two-run homer of the night and Toronto led 6-0.dddddddddddd Boston scored twice in the fifth, and then Cabrera added a solo shot to left in the sixth. Happ started the sixth but was pulled after Gomes two-run homer cut Torontos lead to 7-4. He allowed four runs on seven hits and struck out six. Napoli led off the sixth with a single and Gomes followed with a homer that bounced off the top of the Green Monster. Crew chief Gary Cederstrom needed only about 30 seconds to review the video before confirming it was a home run, pulling Boston within 7-4. Boston is on its longest skid since losing the last eight games of the 2012 season. The Red Sox were 3 for 14 with runners in scoring position and left nine on base. "Were in a little rut right now but well find a way to get out of it," Pedroia said. Boston loaded the bases with one out in the fourth, but third baseman Brett Lawrie helped get Happ out of the jam. Lawrie lunged at a line drive by Xander Bogaerts that was headed for left field. The ball bounced out of his glove when he landed, but Lawrie quickly grabbed it, tagged third for the force out and threw it to Kratz to double-up David Ortiz at the plate. "Lawrie made an unbelievable play," Happ said. "I dont know if anybody else makes that play. Really athletic. That was huge." Doubront allowed five runs on five hits, striking out two and walking three. Notes: Toronto RHP Drew Hutchison (2-3) is scheduled to face Boston right-hander Clay Buchholz (2-3). ... Encarnacion hit multiple homers for the third time this season and 14th in his career. ... Red Sox manager John Farrell said before the game that Boston had re-signed veteran SS Stephen Drew, a member of last years World Series championship club who turned down a $14.1 million offer from Boston and become a free agent. ... Toronto LHP Rob Rasmussen made his major league debut when he came in from the bullpen with one out in the seventh. ' ' '
