With a chance to win their American Association Divisional Series, the Winnipeg Goldeyes had no trouble getting hits. It was the timely hits that eluded them. The Goldeyes lost 9-2 to the Lincoln Saltdogs in Game 4 of their AADS before 1,331 fans at Haymarket Park in Lincoln. Winnipeg outhit Lincoln 14-13 in the defeat and stranded 12 base runners. The deciding Game 5 of the best-of-five series goes Monday night in Lincoln. Things got off the rails quickly for the Goldeyes, as the Saltdogs put up two runs in the bottom of the second inning after Winnipeg starter Matt Jackson balked and then gave up a sac fly. An inning later, Lincoln broke things open with four runs, which chased Jackson from the game after just 2 2/3 innings. The Goldeyes had an opportunity to get back into the game in the top of the fourth, but they couldnt score a run after loading the bases with none out. After the Goldeyes broke Nick Greens shutout in the top of the fifth on Casey Haerther fielders choice, the Saltdogs tagged Winnipegs bullpen for three runs in the bottom of the fifth. It was the first runs the bullpen has given up in the series. Winnipeg scored their second run on a Luis Alen sac fly in the top of the eighth. Haerther, Brock Bond and Donnie Webb each paced the Goldeyes with three hits Jackson suffered the loss for Winnipeg, while Green picked up the win.
