Former Northampton manager Chris Wilder has taken over at Sheffield United following Nigel Adkins dismissal. The 48-year-old Wilder, a former United full-back, still lives in Sheffield and will be joined at Bramall Lane by his Northampton assistant Alan Knill. Wilder led Northampton to the League Two title this season Wilder, who on Wednesday ended negotiations with Charlton over their managerial vacancy, led Northampton to the League Two title after a 24-match unbeaten run.
