REGINA -- The Canadian Football Leagues Saskatchewan Roughriders are getting a new stadium that is being described as iconic and bold. The team, the city of Regina and the province have unveiled the design for a 33,000-seat facility that can be expanded to hold 40,000 fans for special events. The stadium is to have wider seats, a sunken bowl for easier spectator access and expansive concourses. Rider board chairman Roger Branvold says the $278-million stadium will make for a better game day experience for fans. The team also announced that its future home will continue to carry the name Mosaic Stadium when it hosts its first CFL game in June 2017. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Cardinals have put starting pitchers Michael Wacha and Jaime Garcia on the 15-day disabled list. The Cardinals made the moves Sunday after their 5-3 win over Philadelphia. The right-handed Wacha has a stress fracture in his pitching shoulder. He is 5-5 with a 2.79 ERA for the defending NL champions. Garcia has re-aggravated his surgically repaired left shoulder. He is 3-1 with a 4.12 ERA. St. Louis general manager John Mozeliak said it was too early to determine when the players will return. He said the team was aware of Garcias soreness, but the Wacha ailment took him by surprise. "This was a little shocking to all of us," Mozeliak said.
